Suchan Says: 8:20pm Update on Rain – Storms

Storms northwest of Topeka should take a gradual turn to the southeast into the metro between 9:30pm - 10:00pm (western metro first)

Storms northwest of Topeka should take a gradual turn to the southeast into the metro between 9:30pm – 10:00pm (western metro first)

Analysis on where these storms are moving shows a gradual turn to the southeast likely toward the I-70 corridor in the metro and points south.  Severe risk looks marginal for wind gusts and hail.  In fact, the Storm Prediction Center advises only a 20% chance of issuing a watch for these storms.

Main concern is locally heavy rain.  I’ve already seen reports of 1 to 3 inches of rain from these storms as they have been moving south to southeast out of Nebraska.
