Second complex of storms rumbling south through the eastern half of Kansas… will spread additional rain into our area tonight

The first complex of storms we tracked into our area is now exiting the region with leftover light rain behind it.  Unfortunately a second strong complex is moving south from Nebraska into the eastern half of Kansas.  While the heaviest of this complex may just brush our western counties, it will reinforce an extended period of rain across the area tonight with occasional thunder.

The only good news to take from current trends, the heaviest and steadiest of this complex should stay just west of some of the hardest hit areas north from downtown Kansas City particularly in Clay and Ray Counties.  But I certainly expect additional rain to fall in these areas at a light to moderate clip at times.
