Hallie’s Hints: Severe Storms Sunday

If you’ve already stepped outside this morning, the first thing you probably noticed is how warm and humid it is already. The heat and humidity will stay with us today with temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 80s this afternoon.

Showers and thunderstorms are moving into western Nebraska this morning. These showers and storms have developed along a cold front that will slowly be making its way towards our area this afternoon and evening.

Showers and storms will move into northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas by mid-afternoon.

The storms will push southeast through the late afternoon and evening hours.

We are under a SLIGHT RISK for severe weather today. Large hail, gusty winds, and heavy rainfall will be the primary concern with these thunderstorms. The tornado threat is very low… but not zero.

We could pick up an additional half to full inch of rain today into tonight. The FLASH FLOOD WATCH has been extended into Monday morning to account for that.

The good news is dry weather is expected to start the work week. The bad news (if you’re not a fan of sweating)… the heat and humidity is here to stay with highs in the mid to upper 80s! HELLO SUMMER!

Stay with the StormTrack5 Weather Team for the latest on the severe weather threat today.
