Suchan Says: Late Spring Heat !

It’s hard to argue about a couple of hot, sunny days that are mainly rain-free given our recent pattern over the past 6 weeks!!  The next couple of days will see temperatures crank up to 90 or better across the area giving us a taste of late June to early July temperatures.

I expect mostly sunny skies Tuesday with completely dry conditions.  The wildcard in the forecast is very late in the day in northern Missouri.  There “could be” a scattering of storms in Iowa dropping south toward the Missouri border by very late evening.  Right now I expect a few showers or a t-storm to survive the trip into Missouri from Iowa but mainly near or after midnight.

Wednesday is a mostly to partly sunny day and very hot with highs in the lower to mid 90s.  I just cannot rule out a slight 10% chance of a lone shower or t-storm in one or two spots in the viewing area.  Otherwise most of us will be dry.

Thursday begins the transition back to scattered daily thunderstorms.  Although much of the day will likely bring partly sunny skies and very warm temperatures in the mid to upper 80s.  Later in the afternoon to evening I will include a 30% chance of scattered thunderstorms.

Rain chances will increase to 60% Friday as better dynamics and moisture move over the area.  There will be an isolated risk for a strong to severe storm both Thursday and Friday but the more important concern is locally heavy downpours adding to an already saturated region of the Midwest.
