Suchan Says: Look at Rain Chances Ahead

A mild and muggy night is on the way and yep you guessed it, a chance for a couple spotty showers or a t-storm through the night.  I do not expect widespread heavy rain into the morning commute however.

During the day Wednesday, a healthy mix of clouds and sun can be expected along with pop up showers or a few weak thunderstorms through the day.  At this time, I have a peak 40% chance of rain through the day with highs near 84.  It will not be a washout of a day but there could be a few moments in the day where you’ll want to duck under cover to let a shower or storm pass by.

All eyes Thursday will be on the remnant tropical low “Bill” as the circulation spreads north into eastern Oklahoma and curls northeast up I-44 into Missouri.  At this point, I expect the track to be just far enough north to spread rain into our southern counties where a solid 1 to 2 inches of rain is possible.  Otherwise the bulk of the heavier rain should stay closer to I-44 where locally 4 to near 6 inches of rain is possible.  A large Flood Watch is in effect to account for the system’s track and heaviest rain (as seen below).

We’ll want to keep tabs on any changes to the forecast with this remnant low.  If it shifts north on us by a mere 50 to 100 miles, rain chances and amounts go up quite a bit in our viewing area.
