Hawila’s Heads-Up: Father’s Day Storm Chances

Storms rapidly developed this morning on the north side of KC. Live Power Doppler shows the storms lining up in a west to east fashion. These storms are moving east which brings up the concern for localized flooding since storms are training over the same areas. Flood prone areas please be keep an extra close eye on the situation. These storms will be efficient heavy rain producers. You can see the storms in the distance, looking north on our Diagnostic Imaging Centers Tower Camera.

Father’s Day for doesn’t look like a complete washout, but areas along and north of the I-70 corridor should keep the umbrellas handy as scattered showers and thunderstorms are most likely in these areas. It will be another hot day with high temperatures approaching 90° this afternoon.
