Scattered showers and a few storms remain

*** There are no active severe t-storm warnings as I type this update.  Flash flood warnings remain in effect however.  The coverage of storms in the northern half of the area is diminishing.  We could still see a few pop up showers or thunderstorms into the first half of the evening but overall intensity of the storms would likely remain well below what was seen earlier today which produced baseball size hail and larger in some cases along with strong straight-line damaging wind gusts!!!

From earlier this afternoon….

The northern half of our viewing area has had a very active day. We received numerous reports of wind damage, very large hail and flooding rains. Here are a few pictures from viewers. Impressive stuff!

We have crews that will be covering the flooding and damage across the area on KCTV 5 News at 5:30 and 10. Let’s get you updated on the situation this afternoon. As we approach the 3 o’clock hour, there is one lone severe storm warning in the area. Here’s a look at those impacted.

The severe weather threat is expected to continue through at least 5PM, but the overall trend will have the intensity and coverage of storms winding down this evening. As we have been mentioning, the threat for the storms remains along and north of the I-70 corridor. The severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect for these areas.
