Few weak storms and showers in the northern half of our area. Severe storms in northeast Missouri

Radar and satellite imagery show a narrow convergence zone of clouds with a few showers and storms along a slow moving cold front working into the northern half of our area.  A look at Topeka’s evening sounding or profile of the atmosphere shows a pretty stout warm inversion aloft which is providing some resistance to storm development.  Thus far, storms taking shape in our viewing area (north) have struggled to gain intensity.  We still need to monitor them as a weak upper air disturbance approaches and temperatures aloft cool a touch, a few stronger storms could still flare up with hail and brief strong wind gusts.

Late Evening scattered showers or t-storms
