Hawila’s Heads-Up: Workweek Rain Chances & Fall-Like Temps

The sunny, warm weekend (filled with LOTS of KC wins!) is coming to an end and so are the “perfect” summer days. Rain chances are back in the forecast for the workweek.

Your Monday morning commute will be in great shape! Temperatures around 70° and partly cloudy skies will make getting back to work and school a smooth operation. I expect us to also stay rather dry through the lunch hour. All in all, Monday is NOT a rainy day.

A hit-and-miss shower or storm is possible Monday afternoon, but the coverage of the rain will remain minimal. Here’s a look at forecast track showing the scattered in nature rain chances.

Much better chances for rain and storms arrive Tuesday through the first half of Wednesday. A relatively robust storm system (for this time of the year) will roll through the Midwest bringing rain, storms, and even some severe weather with it. Our area could even see a few strong storms Tuesday night, but severe weather isn’t expected to be a widespread issue locally.

Colder air behind this system will usher in for the middle of the week, and oh boy will it feel nice! High temperatures Wednesday are expected to only climb into the low to mid 70s with overnight lows by Thursday morning dropping down to the middle and upper 50s across the area! The refreshing air lingers though Thursday before we warm back up closer to average by the end of next week/next weekend.
