Suchan Says: Labor Day Rain Chances

It has been a sunny and very hot Labor Day weekend thus far.  As we move into the final part of the holiday weekend, rain chances enter the forecast.

Cold front off to our northwest drifts southeast tonight with chance of showers or t-storms

A weak cold front off to our northwest late this evening as been developing showers and storms.  It is only slowly moving southeast and should push into the viewing area after midnight.  Meanwhile, south to southwesterly flow just off the surface will strengthen a bit overnight into this frontal boundary allowing for developing showers and thunderstorms in the area.  Whatever develops tonight should linger into sunrise Monday before gradually weakening.

Monday Early Morning: Scattered showers or thunderstorms in the area

The middle of the day Monday should allow for breaks of sun through the morning cloudiness where temperatures will spike again to a high near 91.  Rain chances in the afternoon will become isolated and spotty for outdoor planning purposes.  The day itself is NOT a washout but we will want to keep tabs on sky conditions and radar for any pop up showers or storms.

Deeper into the evening, showers and thunderstorms will likely continue developing with an increasing coverage of rain Monday night through Tuesday.  Incidentally, clouds with a high chance of showers or storms Tuesday will keep temperatures considerably cooler in the lower to mid 80s.
