Suchan Says: Summer Ends on Warm Note

The final day of summer is ahead and temperatures will certainly feel like it.  A typical high temperature on our final day of summer is around 76 and we should see temperatures easily 7 to 10 degrees warmer in the 80s.

Skies will be partly sunny Tuesday and breezes from the south to southeast.  I expect a high near 84 with humidity levels making it feel a couple degrees warmer.

Rain in the Southwest to move northeast into the Plains Wednesday - Thursday

Rain in the Southwest to move northeast into the Plains Wednesday – Thursday

Rain from a remnant tropical depression in the southwestern part of the country will spread into the Plains by Wednesday and linger through Thursday.  It appears a very dry air to our east will extend far enough west into our area to prevent a washout scenario keeping rain chances isolated and mainly in our western counties.  If you have travel plans further west or northwest from our area however, plan on a good chance of showers with occasional thunder.

Wednesday Morning: Slight rain chance to the west - northwest

Wednesday Morning: Slight rain chance to the west – northwest

Wednesday Afternoon: Partly sunny... slight rain chance to the west - northwest

Wednesday Afternoon: Partly sunny… slight rain chance to the west – northwest

Thursday is a similar forecast where a slight rain chance is in our forecast but mainly in western sections.  Temperatures the rest of the week will average above normal straight into the upcoming weekend.  Typical highs this weekend are in the mid 70s and we’ll run from near 80 into the lower 80s.

Forecast highs next 5 days running above average (mid 70s)
