Hawila’s Heads-Up: Warmer Air & Rain Chance

For the first time this month, KC reached 70°! The 3 PM observation shows 70 right on the nose.

Unfortunately, most of the afternoon remained cloudy across much of the area. There’s still hope for some peeks of sunshine before the day is over. Satellite and Radar shows some clearing taking place west and northwest of the metro.

Wednesday will feature a much better chance for a little bit of sunshine. Temperatures will also be noticeably warmer as highs in the afternoon will climb into the middle 70s across the area. Patchy Fog is also expected to develop by daybreak which could slow down the Wednesday morning in spots.

The bigger day everyone is focused on is Thursday. The Royals have their first playoff game at the K and there’s a chance of rain that afternoon. As we’ve been advertising for several days, a cold front will sweep through the area Thursday. This front brings the chance for a few showers and rumbles of thunder Thursday afternoon and evening. ForecastTrack is now picking up on that idea. We will continue to monitor this rain potential Thursday. At this time, it doesn’t appear to be significant enough to cause major issues for the game.
