Suchan Says: Rainfall Update

This system has been an absolute soaker for the area and not a single report of severe weather came in over the past 12 to 18 hours.  Certainly we had a few loud storms with lightning and thunder but given the dynamic nature of this system, we very much held our own when it comes to damaging winds, hail and certainly tornadoes like they saw out west.

The widespread soaking rain will gradually shift east and out of the area this evening.  However, a few pop up sprinkles or showers will still be possible this evening.

Evening forecast with a few sprinkles or pop up showers

Rainfall amounts have been impressive for the entire area!  No flooding reported as we had been fairly dry prior to this system but that certainly has changed.

I’ll be tracking the next system which is much weaker for late this week.  The big question with that system, rain or will some snow mix in.  I’ll take a closer look at the system coming up in our evening newscasts.
