Suchan Says: Tracking Friday’s System

In what has been an active pattern for the area, yet another storm is set to push across.  You may not need the umbrella for the early morning Friday but take it with you as you start the day.  You’ll need it later in the afternoon and evening.

Clouds are on the increase in the morning with thin spots for a little early sun.  Temperatures will hold in the 30s early.

Partly to mostly cloudy early morning

By early afternoon a thicker variety of cloudiness will be filling in with sprinkles or a few showers developing.  It will be breezy with temperatures pushing into the upper 40s to lower 50s across the area.  Once the rain finally sets in, temperatures will cool and hold steady.

Scattered rain showers developing later in the day as low pressure approaches northern Missouri

Patchy chilly rain in the evening. Some snow could mix in well to the north near the Iowa line

By late evening Friday and after midnight, colder air sinking south behind the area of low pressure will attempt to switch the rain to snow before quickly tapering off.  At this time, unless a few flurries can develop south of Highway 36 in the middle of the night, the best chance for a little snow that could create a dusting in spots will be in our northern third counties in Missouri.

A “possible” dusting in spots in far northern Missouri. More snow likely into Iowa

Early morning clouds Saturday before turning mostly sunny and COLD

Temperatures will struggle all day Saturday and hold in the mid to upper 30s with a gusty wind making it feel like it’s 5 to 10 degrees colder.  Sunday will start in the lower 20s with afternoon highs back into the mid 40s.
