Hawila’s Heads-Up: Frosty Start

A check of temperatures at the 5 o’clock hour show mid 30s across the area. KCI’s 5 PM observation was already at 32°.

This will certainly be our coldest night we’ve seen since March as temperatures are expected to fall into the middle 20s across the area by Sunday morning. After midnight, winds will crank in from the south 7 to 12 MPH and stay in a southerly direction through Sunday evening. This, along with sunshine will help temperatures climb into the upper 40s to near 50° by the afternoon, despite a start in the middle 20s.

Warmer days are ahead as we get into the middle of the workweek. Mid 50s to lower 60s are expected for a good chunk of next week. Another impressive chance for rain arrives Thursday with widespread showers and thundershowers. Behind this system,  much colder temperatures are expected for next weekend. Check out the numbers here in the 7day!
