Amble’s Ramble

OK, here’s where we stand as of the Noon hour on Friday. Temperatures have hovered near freezing through the morning and that should be the case through the afternoon as well. A light mist or drizzle will continue to fall keeping surfaces mostly wet. Elevated objects across the Metro have begun to freeze but so far the roads are in good shape. Bridges and overpasses are the primary concern through the afternoon and the Kansas side of the state line appears to be at a slightly greater risk of freezing. If you must travel this afternoon you should be a little more cautious and aware than usual that roads could become icy. Avoid speeding, it’s not a good idea to use your cruise control devise and allow more distance than usual between you and the car in front of you.  It’s all common sense and considering the temperature will hold at or slightly below freezing you should expect patches of ice later this afternoon, tonight and especially Saturday morning.  Drive safe everyone and have a great weekend.
