Hawila’s Heads-Up: More Dreary Days

This is the pattern the StormTrack5 Team has been advertising for quite a while now. The Thanksgiving soaker has been followed by stubborn overcast, drizzle, light showers and even ice. It’s not over just yet. The Freezing Rain Advisory has been extended again through 6 AM Sunday. Temperatures will hover in the lower 30s (some upper 20s, too) all night. With persistent drizzle and light showers continuing, icy patches on roadways are again a concern. This is especially true for bridges and overpasses. PLEASE use extra caution driving tonight and tomorrow morning.

Temperatures Sunday should climb into the middle 30s by the afternoon. This takes any wintry mix potential and changes to a rain shower potential after 8 AM. If you’re headed to the Chiefs game tomorrow at Arrowhead, please take it easy if you’re heading to an early tailgate. Also, make sure you pack the winter coat and rain gear!

We expecting more widespread showers to move in late Sunday and into Monday. Significant rain is not anticipated, but most areas could pick up an additional 0.25″ of precip. We will FINALLY break this awful pattern by Tuesday.
