Suchan Says: Spring in December!

There is absolutely nothing about the pattern this week that will resemble December in the middle of the country.  All the major storminess will remain locked into the western part of the country while loads of sunshine and temperatures some 20 or more degrees above normal dominates!

Tuesday is another spectacular day if you enjoy unseasonably warm weather this time of year.  The only reason I’m not forecasting a Kansas City high of 60 or higher is some patchy mid to high level cloudiness streaming in may filter some of the sunshine during peak warming.

Tuesday Morning: Mostly Sunny and chilly to start

Tuesday Afternoon: Turns partly sunny with mid to high clouds streaming across

But once we hit Wednesday and beyond, there should be no stopping the high from reaching 60 or better in most areas!  In fact, near record warmth is in the forecast late week.  Records are in the 60s to near 70 degrees and as of now, we will fall just shy of them.

Note the weekend does cool down as a system passes by.  Saturday has a solid chance of producing rain showers with only a lingering shower possible Sunday.  It’s possible we could see a brief rain / snow mix too early Sunday in northwestern Missouri as the system moves away.

Highs compared to average the next 6 days

As I’ll always say, enjoy it while we have it as there is certainly plenty of colder weather and most likely winter weather ahead!
