Suchan Says: Weekend Forecast

Overall this is a pretty nice weekend forecast and incidentally, is our last full autumn weekend of 2015.  Winter officially arrives on the calendar Monday evening at 10:49pm CST.

We’re well on our way to a very cold night across the region.  Certainly not record cold but just a typical night of cold in the middle of December.  Lows in the morning will dip to near 23 with a few colder spots in outlying areas.

11:00pm Friday night temperatures

Saturday brings a ton of sunshine to the area with a few occasional high thin wispy clouds.  Breezes will be from the southeast 8 – 15mph and kick highs into the upper 40s in the metro.  Some 50s are likely in our southern zones.

Sunday turns mostly cloudy after sunrise.  A very shallow deck of stratus clouds will build in.  Most likely there will not be enough moisture initially for rain.  So just a lot of cloudiness from the morning into mid-afternoon.  By late afternoon and evening Sunday, sprinkles or a few light rain showers are likely.  The rain chance late day is 30%.

Temperatures will reach the lower to mid 50s by Sunday evening and it will be a windy day.

Sunday Morning: Turns mostly cloudy

Sunday Afternoon: Cloudy skies with only a slight chance of a couple sprinkles

Sunday Evening: Sprinkles or showers in the area

Sunday Night: Scattered showers or drizzle

Very light rainfall amounts in the forecast

Looking ahead to Christmas next week, break out the short sleeves!  It certainly will not be a white Christmas in Kansas City this year.  There will be a slight chance of a sprinkle or shower later in the day.  A better chance of rain enters the forecast Saturday the 26th.
