Suchan Says: Quick Round of Snow Ahead

blog

Snow over Amarillo quickly moving our way

Another system is racing toward the area with the promise of more winter weather tonight.  That said, the differences from yesterday’s storm to this one are huge!

What is rolling in tonight is a fast moving, weak system with absolutely no deep moisture connection to work with.  The only thing it has going for it are very cold temperatures at the surface and aloft to create a very dry snow.  In these scenarios, it doesn’t take much moisture to produce a quick 1/2″ to 1″ of snow and that is possible tonight.

All flurries or snow showers will quickly move out of the area after sunrise leaving us a mostly cloudy and cold Wednesday afternoon.  Roads should improve into the afternoon despite temperatures staying below freezing.

Very light accumulation possible but enough to create slick travel
