Suchan Says: Light Wintry Mix Tonight

Tracking narrow zone of a wintry mix moving northeast toward our area

A fast moving and fairly moisture starved upper air system will pass by overnight.  There will be a fairly narrow window of opportunity to produce a light wintry mix in the region between roughly 2:00am – 9:00am (although could linger till midday in northern Missouri).

All available computer modeling suggests very light amounts in the area if at all in some cases but temperatures are likely to be in the upper 20s to lower 30s.  It doesn’t take much to create slick travel.  So we need to be on guard overnight into daybreak Wednesday.

Patchy light wintry mix moves in late

The rest of the day is cloudy with a few sprinkles or couple of light showers.  Temperatures warm above freezing.

A better coverage of rain moves in Thursday with a solid .25″ to .75″ rainfall possible into Friday before it tapers off.
