Suchan Says: Friday and Weekend Forecast

blog

Scattered showers tonight and into Friday’s early commute

Friday starts with patchy rain or drizzle with temperatures in the lower to mid 40s.  Roads are just wet with no ice concerns.  During the day, skies remain cloudy but chances for rain will diminish quite a bit.  A few sprinkles or an isolated shower is possible in the afternoon.  There may be enough cold air to even produce a few sleet pellets or snowflakes in northern areas of the region.

Friday afternoon… fairly cloudy with a few sprinkles, shower and a random snowflake or sleet pellet up north

Friday night stays cloudy and starts turning colder.  A few flurries or light snow showers will be possible through the night with little to no accumulation expected.  Lows by Saturday sunrise will dip into the mid to upper 20s.

Latest data on Saturday’s system continue a trend of taking chances for accumulating snow away from our viewing area.  Zone of moderate snow on the northwest side of the low will hug the best dynamics which remain too far southeast of our area for a decent snow.  This will be confined to eastern and parts of southern Missouri closer to the low’s track.

I wouldn’t rule out a dusting or so in our far southern and southeastern counties but unless there is a decisive shift in the track northwest, we will miss major winter weather from this system.

Skies stay cloudy for much of the day and a few flurries are possible into early afternoon.  It will be windy as temperatures fall through the day!
