Suchan Says: Wild Temperature Swing Ahead

Temperatures this week will be the dominate weather headline in Kansas City!  After a briefly milder day Monday with highs in the upper 30s and lower 40s, Tuesday will take a step back into the upper 20s under mostly sunny skies.

Tuesday’s shot of cold air will not lock in however.  Already late Tuesday night winds will switch around to the southwest and much milder air will begin spread over the area.  Once the sun comes out Wednesday, temperatures are likely to spike into the mid 40s!

The peak of this spike in temperatures will be Thursday.  Skies are dominated by sunshine but unseasonably mild air continues to pump into the area.  Temperatures are likely to reach the lower to mid 50s in the afternoon!

Friday is the transition day back into typical winter cold which is truly felt over the upcoming weekend.  The next system to impact the area will be Friday as a combination of light rain, sleet or snow is possible.  At this time, it appears the amount of moisture will be limited and any accumulation in the region would be light.

Old fashioned Kansas City temperature swing next 5 to 7 days!

An early look at the Chiefs’ forecast in New England, a system will spread in with a likely snow or wintry mix Saturday morning at the stadium.  Given what appears to be an inland track to the system, any snow or mix Saturday morning should change to mainly cold rain during the afternoon as temperatures climb into the 30s to lower 40s.

** If the track of the system changes which could happen this far out, the type of precipitation could still change.  But as I type this blog update tonight, this is the data I’m working with and our current game forecast.  GO CHIEEEEEFS !!!
