Amble’s Ramble

A weak upper level wave will quickly push through our area Tuesday bringing a snow chance by the afternoon hours. It’s almost a can’t miss event with light snow beginning after the noon hour on Tuesday.  Here’s the latest model data showing when the snow will begin in the Metro:


This type of system typically produces anywhere from 1″ to 2″. So far this looks like a pretty normal wave so I wouldn’t expect to be snowed in from this event but at the same time it will be the biggest snow so far this winter season. Most models suggest a 1″ to 2″ total in the Kansas City Metro with slightly higher amounts east and northeast of the Metro:


After another round of flurries on Thursday the snow will begin to melt away this weekend as temperatures climb above freezing.
