Suchan Says: Round Two of Winter Weather

Next round of winter weather inching closer to the area

The next round of winter weather will be fairly light on amounts overall but certainly enough to create a few headaches with slick spots developing.  A Winter Weather Advisory was issued to cover this risk and it includes the Kansas City metro.  It will be in effect from 9pm to noon Thursday.

Late this evening, a combination of light sleet, freezing rain or snow will brush through eastern Kansas.  Some slick travel could develop in response to this initial round of light precipitation.

Overnight, patchy snow or freezing mist will spread east into western Missouri and create additional slick travel into the morning drive.  Currently amounts are a dusting to 1/2″ for much of the viewing area along with a thin ice glaze possible.  Along the state line and points west, odds to see 1″ or possibly 2″ accumulation increase.

Later in the day, just a leftover flurry or snow shower is possible with temperatures holding in the 20s.
