Hallie’s Hints: Two Thumbs Up!

You won’t find many people complaining about the weather that we saw on Friday. Highs reached into the mid 60s through the afternoon! Get ready for another “two thumbs up” kind of day! Mostly sunny skies and light southerly winds will warm our temperatures to near 60° this afternoon. AWESOME!!

A sprinkle or two will be possible Sunday mainly across our northern counties and mainly during the morning time frame. This should not cause too much of an issue if you have outdoor plans. It will be a bit cooler Sunday with afternoon highs only in the lower 50s. Keep in mind, average temperatures for this time of year are typically in the upper 30s! AWESOME!

Things drastically change to start the work week. A large storm system… still spinning out in the Pacific Ocean is headed our way. This system is set to arrive Monday evening and through the day Tuesday before pushing east Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Here’s what we do know:
1.) This will bring accumulating snow to parts of the Midwest
2.) We will see colder air move in behind the system
Here’s where the uncertainty is:
1.) Location of heaviest snowfall
2.) Exact timing of system
3.) Accumulation amounts
This system is set to arrive on the west coast Sunday. At that time, we should be able to iron out more details. As of now, it appears that the heaviest snow accumulation will be in Iowa down through central Kansas and clipping extreme northwest Missouri. Again, this will likely change as our forecast models will be able to sample more data as it gets a bit closer…. Stay tuned…
