Hawila’s Heads-Up: Valentine’s Day And Beyond

This was definitely not the best way to kickoff Valentine’s Day weekend. An overcast sky and temperatures stuck in the lower 20s kept many indoors this afternoon. Here’s some great news for those ready for more mild air, Saturday will be the coldest day we see for a while as we get ready for much warmer air. The rest of this evening looks chilly with slowly warming temps late/overnight.

Valentine’s Day features a slight chance for a wintry mix mainly east and north of the metro in the morning. Do be on the look out for a few slick spots if you run into the snow, sleet or freezing drizzle tomorrow morning.

Once we get into the afternoon, temperatures will surge nicely into the upper 40s to near 50°.

Beyond the weekend, things REALLY get warm around here (as far as February is concerned, anyway). Temps will surge well above normal in the 7 Day forecast. Click the link to see when we may hit 70°!
