Teachman’s Take: Gusty Warm Winds Today

There will be a mix of sun and clouds today.  There’s a slight chance for a quick passing shower in northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri.  Otherwise, count on those winds to pick up as the day goes on.  Winds will be sustained this afternoon from the south/southeast at 15 to 20 MPH.  There is a high fire danger today.  The high will approach 70 degrees.

Clouds thicken overnight.  We are still under a risk for severe thunderstorms for Wednesday.  However, the cold front doesn’t come in until later in the day and we could be faced with cloud cover for much of the day and spotty showers that could limit our severe risk.  It’s something we’ll watch closely.  Temps keep warming into the middle 70s.

Leftover showers Thursday morning.  And I see the potential for a brief passing shower for Friday.  Temperatures may take a small detour into the 50s before warming takes place over the weekend.  Highs rebound into the 60s and 70s.

Take care,
