Suchan Says: Tuesday Rain Chance

A chilly night is ahead with some increasing clouds through daybreak.  There will be a slight chance of sprinkles or a rain shower in the northern half of the area to start the day.  Morning temperatures will be in the 30s to lower 40s.

The middle of the day Tuesday is variably cloudy, windy and warm in the 60s and 70s.  It should also be dry for a chunk of the day including the Royals’ game against the Mets at 3:15pm.

Chances for showers and thunderstorms will increase rapidly in the evening after 7:00pm and spread across the area through midnight.  As of now, severe weather potential will be held down because of a lack of instability.  Forecast wind shear is quite strong, so to have limited instability is great news.  Still, a few storms with hail and isolated wind gusts are possible but I’m not expecting widespread severe weather.

Instead, this rain would be more beneficial for the area.  A general .25″ to .75″ rain seems likely with isolated spots over .75″ where heavier downpours occur.

Morning: Slight rain chance mainly to north

Afternoon: Variably cloudy, windy and mainly dry

Early Evening: Showers and t-storms developing out west

Late Evening: Showers and storms moving through the area
