A fast moving, weak system will skip by the area Thursday bringing partly sunny skies and yet another day of strong gusty afternoon winds. I expect to see 35 – 40mph winds once again.
While we enjoy a mix of clouds and sunshine, a few sprinkles or isolated rain showers could move through during the afternoon. Most will not see rain and the best chance to see a shower will be in our eastern third of counties in Missouri.
Thursday night clears out and is a cold night with the potential for patchy frost into Friday morning. Lows will dip to 34.
Looking ahead to the weekend, a huge temperature swing is upon us! Saturday morning starts with a frost or freeze with 20s to lower – mid 30s from north to south across the area. The afternoon stays very cool in the mid 50s as clouds begin to filter the sunshine.
As a strong cold front approaches the area late Sunday, a strong push of warm air will be underway Saturday night into Sunday. Temperatures will surge to near 80 in the afternoon with strong winds again. Rain chances Sunday will be confined to the early hours of the day and again later in the evening.
