Many areas are now falling under lower end drought conditions because of the lack of precipitation we’ve had over the last few months. With that being said, we could all use a little rain! It’s so close, yet so far away. A cutoff low to our west is sitting and spinning with very slow eastward motion. Even though it’s nearby, it won’t bring us rain chances until the beginning of the workweek. This is the system dumping tons of snow in Colorado.
Slowly but surely, this makes its way towards out neck of the woods. Right now, I’m confident the rain chances in our area hold off until Monday. So expect Sunday to be VERY similar to Saturday with clouds, wind and warmth.
You’ll find rain chances Monday-Thursday in the coming week, but there are certianly days with higher probability of seeing rain than others. Monday and Wednesday are those days.
Overall, I don’t think this event brings the drought busting rain totals we could all use, but it certainly will put a dent in it for some. Most areas will pick up 0.5″ – 1″ of rain TOTAL for the week, with isolated higher totals possible. Best bet for the more significant rain totals will be along and WEST of I-35. Total precip east of I-35 a bit less significant.
