Hawila’s Heads-Up: Here Comes The Rain

The slow moving cutoff low to our west is finally swinging rain in our area this evening. A look at satellite and radar shows how close it is to the metro.

Showers will begin west of the metro as soon as 8 PM and in the metro mainly after midnight.

Showers will be ongoing through the Monday morning commute, so plan ahead on leaving a little early and packing the umbrella with you. Showers will continue into the early afternoon before becoming a bit more scattered in nature. A rumble of thunder is possible, but don’t expect to hear loud or aggressive thunderstorms over the next several days. Ingredients just aren’t there.

This won’t be the big drought busting rain we need, but it certainly helps out a lot. Most areas will pick up a half inch to an inch of rain over the next several days with a majority of that falling tomorrow. Next best chance of rain is Wednesday. I expect Tuesday to be a mostly dry day with scattered showers possible EAST of the metro.
