Suchan Says: Warming Up and T-Storms Ahead

A couple more absolutely fantastic days are ahead before we need to start thinking about thunderstorms back in the forecast on a daily basis.  Temperatures will continue to warm and it still appears Saturday is the warmest day with mid 80s possible.

The weekend forecast trend I’ve been watching, when the first chance for storms appear over the course of Mother’s Day weekend.  I had hoped we could at least hold them off entirely until Sunday ensuring dry weather for Nascar on Saturday.  Latest trends over the past 24 hours are showing a cold front slipping into the northern half of the area a little sooner.  This would be the necessary trigger to get a few going later in the afternoon and evening.

Mother’s Day Sunday will start with some leftover showers or a thunderstorm followed by a bit of a midday lull before a 40% chance of scattered storms redevelop later in the day especially into Sunday night.

Friday looking good!

Saturday Afternoon: Cold front to the north drops into northern sections later in the day with a 30% chance of thunderstorms

There will be a risk of a few strong to severe storms over the weekend and into early next week.  It’s too early for specifics on where, when and how strong but the potential does exist.
