Suchan Says: Severe T-Storm Watch

Severe

Radar

Showers and thunderstorms way up to the northwest right now but heading southeast with more development likely

*** Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect until 8:00pm ***

Partly sunny, warm and windy conditions dominate the area.  As a strong cold front pushes into our northwestern zones by mid-afternoon, scattered thunderstorms are likely just ahead of it and they will quickly move into the KC metro for the ride home.  Main concern given the atmospheric setup is damaging wind gusts followed by hail.  Tornado potential looks very low.  You can also expect frequent lightning and quick hitting torrential downpours.

All showers and storms move south and out of the area by 8:00pm.  Royals’ game should be in good shape although batting practice to approaching first pitch could have some impact.

Partly cloudy tonight with dropping temperatures into an unseasonably chilly mid-May weekend in Kansas City!
