Hawila’s Heads-Up: Sunday & Monday

Did you feel that shock to the system this morning? Temperatures fell to near-record levels. KCI reported 42° as a low this morning which is just 2° shy of the record low (40° set in  1907). Sunday starts off with a very similar chill in the air! Lows fall into the upper 30s and lower 40s by daybreak Sunday. blog_2

I do expect Sunday to be a dry day, minus the late evening. You will notice increasing clouds throughout the day with temperatures climbing into the middle 60s. So, while there will be modest improvements in the afternoon highs compared to Saturday, they’ll run about 10° cooler than average. The cooler than average trend over the next week, will continue.

A very good bet for widespread showers moves in late Sunday into most of the day Monday. Plan on a wet, cool day. Severe weather is NOT in the cards with this system. Temperatures will be running way cooler than average with highs in the middle 50s. If you have tickets to that Royals game against the Red Sox, make sure you have rain gear and warm attire ready to go!
