Hawila’s Heads-Up: Active Week Ahead

Did you enjoy the weekend?! It was a pretty superb weekend, weather-wise. High temperatures Sunday topped off in the lower 80s for most of us.

Monday kicks off a rather active week across our area. Scattered showers and storms are expected to hold off until the early afternoon and linger through the evening. So, I really feel we can squeeze in the Monday morning commute without any rain. The drive home will be a bit different.

We can’t rule out a stronger storm with some hail or gusty winds Monday, but the risk for severe weather Monday does look rather low. The risk ramps up a bit later in the week.

One thing I want to emphasize is that not every day is a washout. In fact, I expect MANY dry hours in between waves of showers and storms. With that being said, any storms that do develop in the coming days will at least be in an environment favorable for a few to become strong to severe. You’ll find at least a slight risk for severe storms every day this week.

Widespread severe storms every day are not expected, but as previously mentioned, a few storms could pack a punch. At this time, all hazards are on the table as we enter this active pattern, so it’s especially important to stay updated on your StormTrack5 Forecast as we continue to monitor trends and new data every hour.
