Friday will be another nice day in the books early this June but it does have a low end rain chance creeping back in.
A large area of cloudiness with showers and thunderstorms associated with a large upper trough will pivot northeast during the day. This will push some moisture into the area during the day. However, a residual pool of drier air will still be in place especially in the metro and into northern sections during the afternoon.
This will keep the best chance for a couple of showers or a rumble of thunder confined to areas south of I-70. By late evening, a cold front will push into the northwestern part of the area. There will be a secondary 20% chance of rain in the northwestern part of the viewing area after 9:00pm.
As this cold front slides southeast across the area, a couple showers or a rumble of thunder will be possible.
Temperatures Friday will climb to near 83. It should stay 3 to 5 degrees cooler in southern sections where a bit more cloudiness and a 20% chance of rain will be in the forecast.
