Williams’s Wrap: Sunday Scorcher

We’re definitely going to be feeling the heat as we come off of a week of highs in the 80s and cooling thunderstorms.  Sunday will be the start to a long stretch of hot days ahead.  A Heat Advisory Sunday will be in effect from 1pm until 8pm.  Highs top out in the mid 90s by the afternoon but heat indices between 100 and 105 will mean it’s going to feel even hotter.  We won’t get too much relief during the evening, and then we’ll do it all again on Monday as highs reach the mid 90s.

There will be a few lucky areas though, at least through Sunday.  A weak band of clouds and rain will keep northern Missouri a few degrees cooler and out of the Heat Advisory.  Counties like Atchison (MO), Holt, and Nodaway will have a slight chance for a few more light showers through Sunday and Monday.  But they’ll still deal with the heat as highs reach the low 90s.
