Teachman’s Take: Another Furnace Blast

Temperatures will get even hotter today!  Dangerous heat is expected from noon through 7 PM today.  Highs will reach into the upper 90s.  There will be some bank thermometers that will read 100.  Heat indices this afternoon will once again be between 105 and 110.  Skies will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy.  I can’t rule out a stray shower or storm farther east of the metro.

The intense heat keeps building into Friday with highs close to 100.  Some heat indices could approach 115!  A quick shot for showers early Friday morning won’t be enough to cool us down.  Saturday will be just as hot in the middle 90s.  The cold front looks to be delayed even later and that means another toasty one for Sunday.  There’s a limited rain chance for Sunday evening.  However, our chances go drastically up by Monday morning.  Temperatures will feel much better Monday afternoon in the middle 80s.  We’ll be dancing around storms all of next week.  And depending on when those storms develop, they will affect the afternoon highs.  Right now, we’re forecasting temps to climb back into the lower 90s Tuesday through the rest of next week.
