Williams’s Wrap: Cooler, Wetter Pattern Ahead
The title should actually say “relatively” cooler, because it will still be warm in the coming days but it won’t feel as bad as our long week of dangerous heat. We do have to get through Sunday first though. Highs reach the mid 90s by the afternoon under partly cloudy skies. A cold front will move through the region Sunday but won’t pack enough of a punch to give ALL of us relief.
There’s also a chance for rain Sunday which will come from our frontal passage. Areas north of the Metro will have a chance for a few scattered showers/storms through the morning and into the afternoon. The Metro will have a decent shot at some rain later in the afternoon and into the evening. Towards the overnight, the front will continue to drop south and settle over central MO by Monday. This will bring a slight chance for rain to our southern tier counties through Monday but the Metro should be mainly dry.
Highs Monday reach the upper 80s, a few spots in the low 90s are possible too. Low 90s look likely Tuesday as rain chances really take a hit but after that, we’ll see highs in the 80s for the rest of the work week. We’ll have a chance for rain every day with chances peaking late Wednesday night.
