Overall, this will be a pretty nice summer weekend despite a chance for some showers or a thunderstorm before the weekend is done.
Temperatures will certainly not be an issue. Widespread mid to upper 80s both days are anticipated which is slightly below normal for late July standards. And keep in mind, intense heat is set to build in starting next Monday.
Saturday should be the nicer of the two weekend days but that’s not to say Sunday is a complete wash. The chance of rain Saturday is very isolated and mainly in southern sections late day. I expect some showers or storms in central Kansas and a few of these could clip into our southern counties late day.
Saturday night into at least half of Sunday, scattered showers or thunderstorms will develop in parts of the area. The highest rain chance is in the morning to early afternoon before slowly decreasing late day Sunday. That means some toasty sunshine will be possible later in the day. Don’t cancel those plans!!
