Sunday starts stormy as scattered showers and thunderstorms roll through the region. While the severe threat is low, some storms could be on the stronger side and bring gusty winds and lightning. Pockets of rain will linger into the early afternoon but should start to taper off after about 1pm. Expect to see more clouds than sun as highs warm into the mid 80s.
Later in the afternoon and evening, a warm front will lift over the region and bring another chance for a few showers and thunderstorms. So far, it’s looking like most of the activity that develops will be east of the Metro. But Kansas City will still have a shot at a few drops.
During the overnight, rain chances shift even further east which could bring an isolated shower/t-storm to the edge of our viewing area early Monday morning. After that, Mother Nature turns off the faucet and turns on the heat. Southerly flow after the warm front lifts north will bring highs in the 90s as early as Monday.
