Suchan Says: Hot Midweek Forecast

Favored area tonight for showers or t-storms. Very isolated chance in our viewing area through daybreak

Storms are ongoing across central Missouri and through tonight into Wednesday morning, central to eastern Missouri will remain the favored area for rain.  Otherwise, there are some signs of patchy low clouds developing late which could bring a sprinkle into the morning commute.

A mostly cloudy start. Sprinkle in spots possible

Wednesday afternoon turns mostly to partly sunny and hot.  Highs in the lower to mid 90s and it will feel like it’s 100 or just a touch hotter.

Hot afternoon with mostly to partly sunny skies

Thursday still looks like the hottest day ahead of an advancing cold front.  Given we’ll be in the core of the warm sector with a decent amount of sun, temperatures should climb into the mid to upper 90s.  I fully expect a Heat Advisory to be issued Thursday.

Thursday night into Friday will bring a summer cold front into the area with some clouds and likely showers or thunder.  I’ve bumped the chance of rain to 40% for this period and cooled high temperatures into the mid 80s.

Deep layer lift and moisture as seen via the GFS model Friday. This will likely produce some showers or weak t-storms to finish the week. This same front will bring a continued risk of scattered showers or thunder through the weekend forecast.
