The forecast through the overnight hours will continue with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm in mainly northern Missouri. I do not expect to see much rain further south.
Wednesday starts with some scattered clouds and a slight rain chance up north. The rest of the day brings another healthy dose of sunshine and hot temperatures. Upper 80s to lower 90s should be fairly widespread across the viewing area with the hottest temperatures in eastern Kansas.
Thursday looks like another hot day with not much chance of cooling showers or storms. Highs again push the 90 degree mark.
Friday is the transition day as a strong summer cold front moves toward the area. It should not arrive until Friday night to early Saturday morning and will gradually move through Saturday. This will be the highest chance of rain in the days ahead (late evening Friday – Friday night into about half of Saturday).
Temperatures Friday will range from the mid to upper 80s then stay in the 70s both weekend days. In fact, morning lows Sunday are likely to fall into the mid to upper 50s!
