Williams’s Wrap: Friday Storm Timeline

Some storms have already started to fire in NE Kansas, this will continue to occur through the rest of the afternoon until storms drift our way.  The region (including the Metro) is still under a slight risk for severe weather.  The main threats include damaging winds, large hail, and an isolated tornado is possible.  This is just more of a reason to stay weather aware and have a plan if you’ll be out and about Friday evening.

Storms are expected to move into the Metro by the late afternoon and evening.  Our window for the strongest of storms will be between 7pm and 10pm.  Storms will gradually weaken as we head toward the overnight but there could still be a few leftovers after midnight.

Storm chances dwindle in the coming days but by no means do storms look “likely” over the weekend.  Any outdoor plans will still require an eye to the sky though.
