Teachman’s Take:

This morning’s rain is pretty much done. While a brief midday shower is possible, our attention shift to our severe chances this evening.

Here is the updated Severe Outlook for this evening:

blog

Timeline is still after 6 PM through about 11 PM.  Storms will first move into NE KS and NW MO by 6 PM. They will cluster together in a line and arrive in the metro between 8 and 9 PM. These storms could have gusty winds and heavy rainfall.

At this time, I’m expecting more storms to develop farther south, say from Ottawa through Butler to Clinton and Sedalia (in the heart of the Flash Flood Watch). These storms will produce heavy rain where anywhere from 1” to 3” of additional rainfall is expected through early Saturday. There could also be some gusty winds as well.

Flash Flood Watch in effect through 7 AM Saturday:

Sunshine returns over the weekend.  Highs will be in the middle to upper 70s.  Overnight lows will feel great in the 50s.  Rain chances return Monday.  Highs next week will be cooler in the upper 60s and middle 70s.

Take care,

Teach
