Teachman’s Take: Warmer Start To Week

Lots of sunshine to kick off the work week. Temperatures are starting to warm up a little more. After a cool start in the lower to middle 50s, highs will reach to near 80 Monday afternoon. Winds will start to increase Monday night and into Tuesday morning.

A strong storm system will enter the Plains Tuesday, bringing with it showers and thunderstorms. Some of these storms could be severe with large hail and damaging winds. The most likely area for thunderstorm development late in the day on Tuesday will be across northeast Kansas.

Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning will be stormy across the Storm Track 5 area. While these storms will weaken considerably, heavy rain is still a possibility. The front hangs around on Thursday, sparking more showers and thunderstorms. Any rain will clear the area by Friday morning, giving us plenty of sunshine and cooler temperatures that will last into the weekend. Highs by Friday will drop into the middle 60s with chilly lows in the 40s.

Take care,
