Teachman’s Take: Continued Warming Through The Holiday Weekend

*** Winter Officially Began At 4:44 AM CST Today***

It’s a chilly start with temps in the upper teens and lower twenties.  Skies are clear and temps this afternoon will continue to warm into the 40s!!!

Looking ahead, there is a storm system pegged for Friday.  Timing of the moisture will be critical. teach8

Looks like a light mix moves in late in the morning commute when temps are below freezing.hurricane2

The best chances for snow will be north of I-70 — in particular — north of 36 Highway.  supermoon

A change to ALL rain will occur in the afternoon across the Storm Track 5 area.  It will take folks north of 36 Highway a little longer to see the change from snow to rain during the late afternoon.

Rain showers are possible on Christmas Eve–but better chances for showers & even thunderstorms come in on Christmas Day.  Temps in the metro will be warmer in the middle 50s.  I could see some folks in our southern counties getting into the lower 60s!!!!  If this was spring, we would more than likely have a severe weather outbreak.
