Williams’s Wrap: Holiday Weekend Starts Foggy, Ends Stormy

Patchy to dense fog will stick around through the rest of Saturday morning as last minute Christmas shoppers get ready to head out. Anyone out and about should also be aware of slick spots as most morning temperatures sit at or below freezing. After our foggy start, breaks of sun and mid 40s will make for a nice afternoon.

Active weather returns Christmas Day in the form of rain and thunderstorms. Some scattered showers are possible early Christmas morning and into the afternoon. A strong cold front to our west will attempt to get it’s act together during the afternoon and organize a line of thunderstorms. This line looks to arrive in the Metro between 4pm and 6pm. But by the time that happens the sun will be in the process of setting and storms will lose a lot of their energy and momentum. A stronger storm or two will be possible with damaging wind gusts being the main threat.

This next storm system will also bring a very mild holiday as highs reach the low 60s Sunday afternoon. High temperatures quickly drop closer to normal Monday as we finish out the last week of 2016 in the 40s and 30s.
