Williams’s Wrap: Stormy Christmas Update

satellite

Early Christmas morning showers arrived right on schedule. Rain combined with dense fog in the area will make for poor visibility early in the day. Temperatures Sunday will start off in the 40s and 50s, keeping us on track to hit the upper 50s/low 60s later in the day.

Today’s severe risk has shifted farther west, but severe weather is still a concern towards the afternoon and evening. The main risks are damaging winds and small hail. The threat of an isolated tornado remains low.

A line of storms is expected to sweep through the area between 4pm and 9pm. Tailgaters at Arrowhead Stadium and Chiefs fans who plan to attend tonight’s game need to be weather aware and keep an eye to the sky. Showers/t-storms will move out after 10pm, allowing skies to clear during the night and finally bringing sunshine back into the forecast Monday.
